The Training Centre is utilized for the expert training of the employees of the State Technical Library, its users and for the specialists community. It organizes seminars, training courses, and presentations of services provided by the STL and by other organizations (educational, publishing and others).

The Training Centre, equipped with 10 workstations connected to the internet, SmartBoard, data projector and visualizer, enables the collection of educational events focused on the acquiring of knowledge and skills in the field of computing technology and user-oriented software products incl. practical training of information skills.

The STL Training Centre participates in:

• the Library Public Information Services Programme (LPIS) LPIS 2 - Vocational programme for libraries by providing the following theoretical and practical seminars:
  • Modern information and communication technologies in library management 2002
• Association of Library and Information Professionals of the Czech Republic (SKIP in Czech). http://www.nkp.cz/o_knihovnach/konsorcia/skip/SekceVzdelEng.htm, which continues the work of the former Training Centre for Further Education of Librarians in the Czech Republic within the framework of the MOLIN consortium
• the maintenance and update of overview of conferences, seminars and training events for librarians http://old.stk.cz/Akce
• the expert group for information education of the Association of University Libraries
