STL provides Lending services to holders of a valid User's Card.
Czech citizens older than 15 years of age, organizations possessing a Company ID, foreign nationals, and persons without citizenship may become STL users.
A User' s Card is issued by the STL on the basis of a valid identity card indicating the holder's permanent address or information on temporary residence in the Czech Republic - more information can be found in the Library Regulations.
Publications can be searched for in the OPAC electronic catalogue (publications added to library collections after 1978), publications added before 1978 and bound journals volumes in classic card catalogues.
If the publication cannot be found in the STL collections, it can be borrowed using the ILL from other libraries in the Czech Republic or abroad.
Publications from the library collections can be ordered online via the OPAC catalogue, personally at the STL, in writing, by e-mail to pujcovna@stk.cz or by phone +420 221 663 428.
As a rule, the lending period is 28 days (see Library Regulations); if the publication is not booked, the Lending can be renewed twice (before the lending period expires), either online in OPAC, in person at the STL, by e-mail to pujcovna@stk.cz, by phone +420 221 663 445 or in writing. Publications can be booked in the same way (for fees specified in the Price List of STL Services).
Consultancy/Enquiry services can be used when searching for literature in STL catalogues, searching in union catalogues and other databases and when working with information sources in the STL collections and on the internet.
