EU Projects

Evaluation of IST projects (Brussels) and peer review of library projects (Luxembourg) on behalf of the European Commission

Assistance to libraries in NT projects and services

In charge of a feasibility study for new services and networking of special libraries in Milan, on behalf of the Municipal Authority. Planning of an integrated Web OPAC between different systems, setting up new user workstations, networking and document delivery services, coordinated retrospective conversion

Education and training

Digital Library

Participation in the feasibility study for the Italian Digital Library Project (Biblioteca Digitale Italiana, BDI), commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Specific contribution in the field of metadata handling and cataloguing of electronic resources

METAOPAC-MULTIOPAC

Revision of functionality of the METAOPAC of Tuscan libraries on behalf of Regione Toscana. Review concerned user interface, Z39.50 mapping and UNIMARC conversion, interoperability and exchanging of services between various library systems and OPACs.

Retrospective conversion of catalogues

In charge of a feasibility study and expert assistance to Regione Toscana on conversion of catalogues of public libraries: guidelines and in loco project revision concerning methodologies to be applied and cataloguing choices.
