Major Developments since last ICAU-meeting:

The separate bibliographic file serving the circulation function since 1970 was merged with the main catalogue file in January. All new loans of books for which standard records exist in the ALEPH catalogue (post-1983 cataloguing, and old converted records) are now shown in the holdings note. Old loan-files bibliographic records that have been merged in the catalogue do not appear in regular searches in the catalogue. (Most of the JNUL card catalogue has not been converted so far.)
The Base structure has just been accepted in principle as standard for all special collections of printed materials at the JNUL, including those for which separate - mostly partial - catalogues already exist (see On-line Catalogues above). It is now tested on the collection of the General Reading Room, and the rest are expected to follow gradually.
