Server: DRS/NX 6000 with two 40 MHZ processors, 384 MB RAM, 8 GB harddisk

Network: Our server is placed at the city hall and the main library is connected to the server with an optical-fiber cable. 4 of the branch libraries is connected to the server with an ISDN- connection. The other 5 branch libraries is connected to the server with modem. Our mobile library is connected to the server with radio connections.

Workstations: We have approximately 93 pc/terminals in the main library, the mobile library and the 9 branch libraries. In the main library we have 13 terminals for public use and 3 pc’s, which i being used for surfing on the internet. 2 of our pc’s are used so the borrower can take his own reciept. The 7 branch libraries each have 1 terminal for public use. Beside the network workstations we have 6 stand-alone pc’s for public use of CD-ROM and use of word-processing at te main library. 2 of the branch libraries each have 1 stand-alone pc for public use af CD-ROM.

Major Developments since last ICAU-meeting:

In 1996 we developed our own web-site with acces to our database. The adress is:

Major Developments planned:

The plans for next year are replacing the terminals with pc’s moving on to a new server moving on to the next Aleph version hopefully getting started with SDI using offline pc’s getting started with EDI that all the employees are getting e-mail.
