The International Inter-library Loan Service (IILS) provides access to documents from the fields of technical sciences and applied natural sciences, by procuring copies of articles from periodicals or by borrowing the required publications from foreign libraries.

Through IILS, it is only possible to ask for documents which are not available in the collections of libraries within the territory of the Czech Republic. Before submitting an order form, it is necessary to verify the request in the Central Register of Foreign Literature (CASLIN - CEZL) of the National Library of CR. The service is provided on receipt of pre-paid coupons, which can be bought in the place where IILS are provided. Alternatively coupons can be ordered in writing and payment can be made by using an invoice which provides advance notice on the payment.

The requests are received:

• by post and can be made either by sending the standard Requisition Form for IILS (this is available upon request from the IILS Dpt.) accompanied by the appropriate coupon.

• by completing and sending the Web IILS Order Form from the STL WWW site (again, only after establishing a Coupon Account).

Likewise the STL lends documents from the STL collections or intermediates in the borrowing of the documents from the collections of other libraries in CR to foreign users on the basis of requests as stated on:

• the International Loan Request Form (IFLA) sent by post to the above address

• the STL IILS Order Form sent by fax to the number /+420 2/ 242 29 224

• the STL IILS STL IILS Order Form sent via e-mail

• by completing and sending the Web IILS Order Form from the STL WWW site
