 Dear colleagues

We are very pleased that the Training Center Network Meeting will take place in Prague from April 5th to April 9th 2003. We are looking forward to meeting you in this wonderful city. The Educational Section - Training Centre of further education of librarians in the Czech republic of the SKIP would like to make your stay in Prague as comfortable as possible. Therefore we send you a few organizational instructions
  • Stay in Prague: arrival on April 5, 2003 - departure on April 9, 2003
  • Program: the detailed program information will be at your disposal in the hotel in Prague.
    There is a excursion to the Karlštejn Castle (5 hours, lunch included) prepared for you on April 6, 2003.

STL Training Centre and NL Training Centre are located on the 1st floor, access route will be marked.

Accommodation in the hotels: Both hotels are situated in a historical center of capital city Prague. Other information about accommodation we will send you as soon as possible.
After your arrival you will find there all information you need.

Boarding provided/social events
  • April 5 - 9 - Breakfast in the hotel of your stay
  • April 6 - Excursion to the Karlštejn Castle (5 hour networking + lunch included)
  • April 6 - Welcome Dinner in a restaurant (the invitation you will find in the hotel)
  • April 7 - Lunch in the National Library CR, Klementinum
  • April 8 - Lunch in the National Library CR, Klementinum
  • April 8 - Raut in the National Library CR, Klementinum
  • Other boarding is individual. If you are a vegetarian please let us know as soon as possible.
Transit information:

Hotels, boarding and the meeting venue are all very close in the historical centre of Prague. The distance among all of them is max. 5 minutes. The most of remarkable Prague monuments (Prague Castle, museums, theatres, concert halls etc.) are accessible on foot, too.

From the airport:
  • by bus - bus No. 119 to the terminal station "Dejvická" and then take the subway line A (green marked line) to the "Staroměstská" station (3rd station). The transfer ticket costs CZK 12 and is valid both for bus and subway from airport to "Staroměstská"
  • by taxi - we advise to order a taxi by phone because of the extremely high prices of the airport taxi: AAA TAXI, number phone 14 0 14, 222-333-222, GSM 602-331-133, 603-331-133, 777-331-133.
City transport prices:
  • 8 CZK ticket - single ticket valid for 15 minutes (bus, tram) or 4 stations by subway
  • 12 CZK ticket - transfer ticket valid for 60 minutes (all means of transport)
Czech crown (CZK) exchange rate:
1EUR = approx. 30 CZK; 1USD = approx. 30 CZK, tax not included.

Prague is a beautiful and charming city, but for your security and a trouble-free stay please be aware of pickpockets in the city and in the public transport (subway, tram, bus). Take care of your belongings and stay away of the crowd whenever possible.
