The STL Inter-library Loan Service (ILS) ensures the loan of documents from the STL collections to all libraries within the Czech Republic.

Requests for the loan of documents from the STL collections can be made by post by using the order form for ILS, via e-mail or by completing and sending the Web Order Form for ILS from the STL WWW site.

The STL also ensures the loan of documents from the field of technology and applied natural sciences from other libraries within the Czech Republic on the basis of a request for procurement of a document from the collections of other libraries in the CR. These documents are usually only avaiable for study within the library; in exceptional cases they are allowed to be taken out of the library (only against payment of a security deposit). A user is required to report any loss, damage to or destruction of the documents to STL immediately and is obliged to compensate the library for any such occurance within a specified period of time (see STL Library Regulations, part IV, item 3.3.1). This service is only available to readers registered with the STL.
