    Mission Statement

    National Children's Library "Ion Creanga" is a state organization which has a mission to acquire, preserve, and capitalize the children's publications issued in the Republic of Moldova; to satisfy the needs of children and adults interested in the children's literature and problems of education using its collections and other information sources; to provide modern technologies and new strategies in children's and school libraries of the Republic of Moldova. 

  2. Computer networks and Internet connectivity
    1. In general HW: number of PCs - 20 (Pentium III 733 - 1, Pentium III 667 - 7, Celeron 633 - 1, Celeron 333 - 1, Pentium 133 - 1, Pentium 100 - 9), printers - 2, scanner - 1, fax modem - 1, scanner bar code - 3 
    2. In general SW: OS (Windows 95, 98, NT, Novell), TINLIB, MS Office, Page Maker, Corel Draw, Norton Antivirus, Netscape Communicator.
    3. Internet connection: At the moment only one computer is connected to Internet by dial-up. But from June 2001 the dedicated line will be installed and 9 computers will be connected to Internet (7 for users).
  3. Union Catalogue
    1. There is no union catalogue in Moldova yet. National Library of the Republic of Moldova has a special project in respect of this and is looking for financial support now.
